He has extensive domestic and international experience in construction and projects.
Scott advises private and public clients in a variety of sectors, including renewable energy, infrastructure, health, transport, airports, water, manufacturing and industrial plants, telecommunications, and commercial developments.
He advises clients throughout the project lifecycle, with a focus on procurement strategy, tendering, contract drafting and negotiation, project advisory, and dispute avoidance.
Scott is experienced with all contractual models used in New Zealand from EPC contracting through to Alliancing. He advises on bespoke construction contracts, local and international standard forms (including FIDIC) and other ancillary project agreements required for the financing and development of major energy and infrastructure projects.
Scott previously worked for Freshfields in their construction and global major projects practice where he worked on projects throughout Asia, Africa and the Middle East. He was also seconded to clients, Marubeni Corporation in Japan and POSCO E&C in South Korea, where he advised on many international energy and infrastructure projects.
