Justin is a projects and real estate specialist, with particular expertise advising on a wide range of commercial property developments and transactions.

Since joining Bell Gully in 2015, Justin has been involved in advising on a wide range of commercial property developments and transactions, with a particular focus on advising both landlords and tenants on commercial leasing matters.

Justin has worked for several years in the technology and manufacturing sectors, holding senior management positions in a number of companies both here and overseas. Justin’s commercial experience outside of law includes leading contract negotiation with international clients, large scale project management, operational management and business development.

Fletcher Building
Advised Fletcher Building on the subdivision and sale of various properties, including the sale by Pacific Steel to BlueScope valued at NZ$120 million, its NZ$315 million acquisition of Higgins New Zealand and Fijian assets, and advising as tenant of commercial premises throughout New Zealand, such as those occupied by Mico Plumbing, Winstone, Placemakers and Higgins.

Stride Property
Advised Stride Property as owner and landlord on its nationwide portfolio, including retail, commercial office and industrial properties and developments.

Stride Property Group
Advised Stride Property Group on the establishment of Industre Property, an unincorporated joint venture with an investment vehicle for international institutional investors advised by JP Morgan Asset Management (together, JPMAM).

Investore Property (Investore)
Advised Investore on its conditional agreement with Stride Property to acquire three large format retail assets for a purchase price of NZ$140.75 million and on its NZ$287 million acquisition of the Antipodean Supermarkets portfolio.

Advised Investore on a wide range of matters relating to its acquisition of its large format retail portfolio, as well as ongoing leasing and development matters.

Accor Hotels
Advised Accor Hotels on a wide range of commercial contract and property related matters.

Winton Partners
Advised Winton Partners on the development, sale and leasing of various residential and light commercial sites.

Diversified NZ Property Trust
Advised Diversified NZ Property Trust on its NZ$445 million acquisition of the Westfield Queensgate shopping centre in Lower Hutt and the Westfield Chartwell shopping centre in Hamilton, and with Stride Property on the redevelopment of the jointly owned Johnsonville Shopping Centre.

Tainui Group Holdings
Advised Tainui Group Holdings on its NZ$192.5 million sale of a 50% share of The Base shopping centre in Hamilton.

Mighty River Power
Advised Mighty River Power (now Mercury Energy) on the completion of its sale of part of its Marsden site to NIWA.
