The judges noted the Corporate team had advised on several “high profile matters" over the past year, with a high degree of consistency that are the “hallmarks of Bell Gully's outstanding year".
Head of Bell Gully's Corporate team, partner Dean Alderton, said this accolade is testament to the trust and confidence shown in the team by its clients, and the huge effort put in by the broader Corporate team.
“2020 was a challenging year for many of our clients as they grappled with the dynamic situation brought about by COVID-19. We, and the firm more generally, are proud to have been part of their broader response team, and thankful for the continued opportunities to assist our clients on key strategic initiatives," he said.
“With the addition of three new senior associates during this period – Alex Bond, Gabby Smith and Jared McIntosh – we are also continuing to grow our bench strength in order to provide an even higher level of client service."
The Bell Gully Corporate team has also had a busy start to 2021, including advising:
- Bentley Systems on its US$1.05 billion acquisition of Seequent, a global leader in 3D modeling software for geosciences;
- Lightspeed POS on the US$350 million acquisition of Vend, a cloud-based retail management software company;
