Treaty settlements on the agenda at major Wellington conference

There's a warning quality could be lost in the rush to complete historic settlements by 2014.

Lawyers, lawmakers and iwi representatives discussed these issues at the Lexis Nexis Treaty Settlements and Beyond symposium in Wellington in June.

Bell Gully senior associate Damian Stone presented a paper which looked specifically at what happens after a Treaty settlement. He focuses on the different governance arrangements put in place by post-settlement government entities (the legal entities that receive Treaty settlement assets on behalf of the beneficiaries of those assets ), and the challenges and changes taking place.
