Banking and finance law event marks 25 years

A strong line-up of banking and finance lawyers and academics will gather in Queenstown this week for the 25th Annual Banking and Financial Services Law and Practice Conference.

The event attracts participants from New Zealand and Australia for sessions on developments impacting the banking and finance law sector. Oxford University Visiting Professor in International Financial Law, Professor Philip Wood, will also be attending as a keynote speaker.

The 25th conference, to run 25-26 July, has as its theme, "The Financial Markets Bungy, ensuring we spring back after taking the plunge" and will focus on lessons from the credit crunch that followed the crisis affecting the US sub-prime mortgage market and global debt and equity markets.

Bell Gully banking and finance specialists will be in Queenstown to take part in the conference.
