Commerce Minister Lianne Dalziel has today announced the appointment of Bell Gully partner Ralph Simpson as a new member of the Accounting Standards Review Board (ASRB) for a five-year term.
Ms Dalziel says: "His legal expertise will be particularly useful on the board as legal issues relating to the scope of the ASRB's powers arise from time to time."
Ralph Simpson has been a partner at Bell Gully since 1992 and currently heads the firm's litigation department. He specialises in commercial, corporate and securities litigation. He is a past member of the Bell Gully Management Board and past member of the Joint Insolvency Committee, which is composed of representatives from the legal and accounting professional bodies. As well as his legal qualification, Ralph holds a Commerce degree, with a major in accounting.
