Bell Gully appoints new chairman

IFLR New Zealand Law Firm of the Year Bell Gully has elected Roger Partridge as its new chairman.

Roger has been a litigation partner since 1992 and has been head of the firm's Litigation Department since 2004. He has served on the firm's Board for seven years.

Roger is also the Director of the Legal Research Foundation, New Zealand's leading private law reform body, and is a member of the editorial board of the New Zealand Law Review.

Roger says the two factors that set Bell Gully apart are the quality of its people and clients.

Bell Gully is consistently regarded in the marketplace as the leading firm. It is experiencing extremely strong growth. Roger says that the key challenge for the firm is recruiting enough talented lawyers to meet the demands placed on the firm by its clients.

"This month Thomson Financial results recognised us as New Zealand's top M&A firm for the fifth successive year. That sort of track record is built up by having the very best people acting for leading clients who expect service and expertise second to none."

Roger takes over from fellow partner David Simcock who returns fulltime to the firm's tax practice.

"David has made a significant contribution during his almost three years as chairman and his fellow partners are delighted he is returning to focus on a tax practice that he has previously helped take to the top of the market."
