Bell Gully partners and the firm's chief executive will speak at one of the largest ever Asian legal conferences next week.
This year's International Bar Association (IBA) Annual Conference will see a gathering of more than 120 countries represented by 3300 delegates, making it the largest international legal conference held in Asia to date.
The IBA aims to promote an exchange of information between legal associations worldwide and has a membership of 30,000 lawyers and more than 195 bar associations and law societies.
Held in Singapore, the conference runs from 14 to 19 October and comprises over 150 working sessions on practice-specific issues and wider issues affecting the profession.
Bell Gully chief executive Stephen Macliver will oversee sessions on law firm management while employment partner Rob Towner will co-chair a session on human resources law for Asian multinationals operating in non-Asian countries.
Corporate partners Andrew Abernethy, Chris Gordon and Jonathan Ross will speak respectively in sessions on shareholder activism, global consolidation of securities exchanges and capital markets financing for private equity deals in Asia.
