Some of the country's top newly qualified painting and decorating apprentices have been given practical advice on what they will need to know to set up their own businesses.
The Paintercraft Trust is running a course in Wellington this week to help prepare 12 leading apprentices as they move towards their own businesses.
The course is covering a wide range of relevant subjects and among today's subjects was employment law issues.
Bell Gully solicitor Matt McGoldrick took the participants through an overview of some of the key issues involved in the employment law arena including the obligations required under different employment relationships such as for employees and contractors, employment agreements and health and safety requirements.
