Former Bell Gully partner appointed to prestigious America's Cup panel

Former Bell Gully partner Graham McKenzie has been chosen as one of three international members of the Arbitration Panel for the 33rd America's Cup.

The panel will resolve disputes around the next America's Cup and will also act as an appeal body for decisions of the America’s Cup Sailing Jury, which is charged with resolving sporting and technical issues.

It is composed of three members with long-term experience in sports law. Other members include Professor Henry Peter, from Switzerland, who will chair the panel, and Luis Maria Cazorla Prieto, from Spain. Both Graham and Professor Peter served on the jury of the 32nd America's Cup.

Graham was a partner at Bell Gully from 1982 to 2006, advising a wide range of clients on corporate and commercial law matters. He is director of several public companies and has leadership roles in community organisations. He has sailed both competitively and for leisure in New Zealand and the Pacific for many years in a wide range of yachts.
