Did you have plans for the weekend or do you have a GST return due on Monday?
If you would in the past have filed a GST return at the end of May, this has changed.
You now need to file on 28 May, i.e. on Monday.
GST returns will now generally be due on the 28th day of the month following the end of a GST period. The exceptions are:
- 15 January – for GST periods ending on 30 November; and
- 7 May – for GST periods ending on 31 March.
Here are the due dates recently published by the Inland Revenue Department. They also show the due date where a return would otherwise be due on a day that is not a working day.
