Bell Gully has contributed the New Zealand chapter for a new publication, detailing the world's electricity regulation regimes.
The chapter, published in Getting The Deal Through - Electricity Regulation 2005, explains the legislative and commercial structure of New Zealand's electricity industry.
It details the legislation and regulation in place for generation, transmission and distribution utilities and the organisation of the market for those utilities. The chapter also describes the regulatory authorities that govern the industry and their respective powers in the marketplace.
The chapter was written by Bell Gully partners Garry Downs and Andrew Brown, who both have extensive experience of the electricity industry.
