Bell Gully named leading tax lawyers in New Zealand by international directory
Bell Gully's tax team has been named as "the leading law firm in New Zealand providing tax advice" by a major international directory.
The latest edition of World Tax 2005 ranks Bell Gully as a top tier firm for tax advice and names two of the firm’s partners, Niels Campbell and Willy Sussman, as leading tax advisors.
Bell Gully has the largest legal taxation department in New Zealand, with five partners and 12 lawyers working solely on tax matters.
The team delivers general corporate tax advice, including corporate restructuring and tax-efficient financing. In addition to corporate advisory work and advising on tax policy issues, it also advises on the resolution of disputes with the Inland Revenue Department and appear as counsel during tax litigation hearings.
The team includes a strong indirect tax practice advising on GST, customs and excise duty and Accident Compensation (ACC) matters and carbon taxes.
