Leading law firm Bell Gully is sponsoring the Auckland season of Marlene, presented by (potent pause) PRODUCTIONS at the Herald Theatre from 12 to 19 April.
The play provides an insight into the life of screen icon Marlene Dietrich, with actress Jennifer Ward-Lealand in the title role.
"This is the second year that Bell Gully has sponsored (potent pause) PRODUCTIONS," says Maggie Callicrate, Bell Gully's Chief Executive. "We're pleased to support high-quality independent theatre for the Auckland region."
Bell Gully's arts sponsorship programme for 2003 also includes support for (potent pause)'s Auckland production of Miss Julie in September and Downstage Theatre's production of The Book of Fame in Wellington from 9 May.
Marlene is set in a Parisian theatre. As she prepares for a performance, the legendary actress reveals her life, loves and fears, illustrated by the songs that she made famous - La Vie en Rose, Johnny and, of course, Falling in Love Again.
Marlene is directed by Ilona Rodgers. The play runs from 12-19 April at the Herald Theatre, Aotea Centre, Aotea Square, Auckland. Tickets are available from Ticketek and from the Aotea Centre box office.
Bell Gully is New Zealand's leading corporate law firm. It has offices in Auckland and Wellington and 250 legal staff.
