Kevin has general commercial litigation experience, with particular expertise in intellectual property, media law and domain name disputes.
Kevin acts for plaintiffs and defendants on intellectual property litigation matters relating to breach of confidence, copyright, trade marks, passing off Fair Trading Act, patents and plant variety rights, and has particular experience in making interim injunction applications.
He advises on media law issues including defamation, name suppression and contempt of court. He has advised and acted for claimants on domain name disputes under the New Zealand Dispute Resolution Service (including the first complaint under the system), the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy and in the High Court of New Zealand.
He is also skilled in general civil and commercial litigation matters in the District Court and High Court.
Kevin rejoined Bell Gully's litigation team in 2005 after completing his Master of Laws at the University of Cambridge and practising at Ashurst in London. While at Ashurst he was seconded to the UK legal team of Europe's largest pharmaceutical company, Sanofi-Aventis.
