Jane has extensive experience of commercial property work, both in New Zealand and in the UK, and specialises in commercial leasing and development projects.

She leads the firm's property team and has extensive experience in the leasing, sale and purchase of commercial properties and has also acted on many design and build projects and sale and lease back transactions. She acts for various major developers, forestry companies and retailers in New Zealand.

Jane co-authored the current edition of the New Zealand Property Council Retail Lease and is working on the upcoming New Zealand Property Council Office Lease.

Jane provides seminars on property issues, including on green leasing for members of CoreNet Global, the world's leading professional association for corporate real estate and workplace executives.

"The Base" development by Tainui Group Holdings
Advised Tainui Group on the development of Hamilton's largest retail outlet "The Base", constructed on a former air force base. Jane continues to advise on all of the construction contracts and leasing arrangements for the development.

BNZ corporate developments
Acted for BNZ on the sale and leaseback of the bank's new Auckland CBD corporate headquarters. Bell Gully advised on the sale and purchase agreement, design and build agreement to lease, and also on resource management matters. This significant new office building for Auckland has a particular emphasis meeting new standards for green buildings in New Zealand. Bell Gully also acted for BNZ on a design and build agreement for major new premises at Centreport Wellington.

Bluewater- Westpac development
Advised Bluewater on a design and build agreement with Westpac for a new office complex to relocate operations from several existing sites. The transaction will see the construction of a new building and the expansion of an existing heritage building linked by pedestrian airbridges.

Carter Holt Harvey forest sales
Advised Carter Holt Harvey, New Zealand's largest forest owner, on the sale of its forestry business comprising substantially all of its forestry interests including approximately 260,000 hectares of freehold and non-freehold forestry estate, to US-based forestry manager Hancock Natural Resource Group Inc.
