Stephen Layburn

Stephen advises on a broad range of corporate, M&A, private equity and securities markets work.

He provides commercial legal and business law advice to a wide variety of New Zealand and overseas businesses.

His considerable experience includes the corporate advisory, venture capital/private equity and energy sectors.

Stephen has advised stakeholders on shareholder relations and corporate governance matters, and developed and presented education and compliance programmes on corporate and securities law.

Stephen was part of a government-funded, interdisciplinary group established to develop a reform package for producer boards to move toward a more open and efficient market for exporting primary produce.

Stephen also has an interest in sports law and is chairman of New Zealand's National Basketball League.
