Marija specialises in environmental and planning law. She advises on the environmental, land use and planning issues that can occur at all stages of developments and projects.
Her work includes due diligence on property and corporate transactions, as well as all aspects of planning procedures and resource consents.
Marija is experienced in advising on environmental warranties and indemnities on major corporate M&A transactions. She also advises on liability for site contamination and regularly appears for clients at council hearings, mediations and in the courts.
Marija advises New Zealand winemakers and grape growers, and their representative body NZ Winegrowers, on national planning and strategic issues.
She began her career specialising in resource management at another major New Zealand law firm before working in London from 2000-2005, in leading UK firms, with a focus on contentious work.
