Gareth specialises in capital markets transactions, private equity, funds management, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and general corporate advisory.
Gareth joined Bell Gully in 2010 following four years in Dubai, first at Norton Rose LLP, then at Herbert Smith LLP. He has a wide range of both New Zealand and international experience working with a variety of clients, from the board and senior management of large multinationals, to individuals who are just creating start-up businesses.
His experience includes advising on initial public offers, dividend reinvestment plans, employee share schemes and other securities' offers, as well as establishing investment funds, providing legal structuring advice for a range of transactions, and advising on mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, joint ventures, competitive bid processes, fund management, legislative and regulatory (including the NZSX and NZAX Listing Rules) compliance and general corporate/commercial matters. Gareth is also one of the few lawyers in New Zealand with experience in structuring transactions to be compliant with the principles of Islamic Shari'ah.
