Advised Archer Capital in relation to the NZ$132 million sale of the OneSource Group. Previously advised Archer Capital on acquisitions of OneSource, the Fosters Wine Club businesses in New Zealand, Cardmember Wines and Carters Services.

Gresham Private Equity
Advised Gresham Private Equity on its acquisition of Noel Leeming and Bond & Bond. Also advised Gresham Private Equity on its acquisition of 50% of Pacific Print Group.

Sale of Summerset Group Holdings and Summerset Management Company
Advised on the sale of AMP's interest in retirement village owner and operator, Summerset, and Summerset's manager to Quadrant Private Equity.

Equity International
Advised US-based Equity International on its US$95 million combined investment in the retirement business Renaissance Lifecare Plc in the UK and the retirement village business Sanctuary Residences in New Zealand and Australia.

Ironbridge takeover of MediaWorks
Advised Ironbridge Capital, a leading independent Australasian private equity group, on its takeover of all the shares and options in New Zealand media company CanWest MediaWorks. Ironbridge Capital's offer to acquire all of the shares in MediaWorks followed a highly contested bidding process for CanWest's 70% stake. Subsequently advised Ironbridge Capital on the debt and equity restructuring of MediaWorks.

Acquisition of Formica Corporation from private equity interests
Advised Fletcher Building on the NZ$1 billion cross-border acquisition of US-based Formica Corporation from private equity investors Cerberus Capital Management LLC and Oaktree Capital Management LLC. Bell Gully advised on all aspects of the transaction which resulted in the creation of the largest global manufacturer of decorative surfaces and high-pressure laminates in the world. The transaction was named New Zealand Deal of the Year at the ALB Australasian Law Awards.

RMB Capital shareholding purchase in NDA Group
Advised RMB Capital, a mid-market private equity investor, on the purchase of a major shareholding in NDA Group, a fabricator of high quality stainless steel equipment.

Crescent Capital Partners
Advised Crescent Capital on its takeover offer for 100% of Abano Healthcare Group not already held by Crescent Capital, which owned 10.9% of Abano at the time of the offer. The offer was ultimately unsuccessful but notable as an attempt by a private equity fund to privatise a public company.

Communications Venture Partners and GEMS
Advised two private equity firms, UK-based Communication Venture Partners and GEMS of Hong Kong, on the purchase of a majority stake in New Zealand mobile telecommunications company 2degrees (then known as Econet Wireless).

Tegel Foods acquisition
Advised Pacific Equity Partners on all aspects of its NZ$250 million acquisition of New Zealand's largest poultry producer Tegel Foods from H.J. Heinz Company.

Griffins Foods acquisition
Advised Pacific Equity Partners on its acquisition of leading New Zealand biscuit maker Griffins Foods from Danone Asia for NZ$385 million.

Airline Partners acquisition of Qantas Airways
Advised on Overseas Investment Commission requirements as New Zealand counsel on the Airline Partners Australia consortium (comprising Texas Pacific Group, Macquarie Bank, Allco Finance Group, Allco Equity Partners and Onex Corporation) proposal to buy Australian airline Qantas Airways for A$11.1 billion.
